About me and my art

My fascination with the natural world is nurtured by lots of looking, while outside and in, as I travel through neighborhoods, cities, parks, greenways and waterways.

The organic patterns of branches, leaves, stems, ripples, grasses, and more are the vocabulary and color palette for making my art.

I earned a Master's degree in sculpture, and have had a long-time crush on printing. After a career in the corporate marketing world with art as a side gig, I switched paths to the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum. My career and art began to merge at Hamilton, where I became a wood type cutter, ran the Wood Shop, taught workshops, and did marketing that included research findings from examining Hamilton's wood type cutting holdings and from my own work cutting type and stamping borders my artwork became focused on printed wood grain.

I am currently an itinerant wood type cutter and researcher, and a printer of wood grain.
